Garden maintenance worker — City of Roanoke

Join our team: we are hiring a garden maintenance worker in City of Roanoke, Virginia. You will be based at a plant nursery. You will apply fertiliser, compost and mulch to beds; dig over and turn the soil and prepare seedbeds; plant seasonal bedding plants, bulbs and saplings; operate strimmers, leaf blowers and brush cutters; lay turf and oversow bare patches of lawn; rake up fallen leaves, grass clippings and garden waste. You should have: • Pesticide spraying certificate (PA1/PA6) an advantage • Previous experience as a gardener or in grounds maintenance Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
