Sand plant operator wanted in Jefferson County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Jefferson County, Kentucky. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. You should have: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry Day-to-day duties: • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities Six days a week, one day off. We offer $16 per hour plus benefits. Walk-in interviews this week.
