Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Houston County, Alabama. You will work on an infrastructure project such as a metro or flyover. Requirements: • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Willing to work outdoors in all weather and to tight pour dates On the job you will handle: • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder • Read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions • Place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing • Lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour At least 3 year(s) in a similar role. $3,800 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
