Sand plant operator — Berrien County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Berrien County, Michigan. You should have: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Your main tasks: • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity 3+ years on the tools preferred.
