Shakeout operator • Chester County, South Carolina

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Chester County, South Carolina. You will be based in the fettling and dressing shop. You will carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together. Ideal candidate: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Full-time, day shift.
