Immediate opening: we are hiring a tig welder in Brooks County, Texas. What we are looking for: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height On the job you will handle: • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
