Vacancy available: we are hiring an ironing operator in Washtenaw County, Michigan. The job is at a dry cleaner's. Day to day you will give each garment a final press before packing; meet the daily piece target without damaging garments; clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents; operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press. Requirements: • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • A keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases • Physically fit to lift bundles and handle repetitive work $5,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
