Immediate opening: we are hiring an abattoir worker in Lewis County, Kentucky. The job is in a supermarket meat department. The role involves: • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled • Season and marinate meat on request • Stuff and link fresh sausages with casings • Debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife Requirements: • Quick and accurate on the weighing scales and order maths • Comfortable working in cold rooms and chillers • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
