The role involves: • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer You should have: • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Able to pass a weld test on the spot Overtime paid at a premium rate.
