You will fit fly screens, sills and trickle vents; clean welded corners on a corner-cleaning machine and chisel off the weld flash; cut and weld mullions and transoms into the frame; fit espagnolette locking gear, friction hinges, handles and keeps to the sash; drill drainage and pressure-equalisation slots in the outer frame. You should have: • Comfortable handling and lifting glazed units safely • An eye for finish — no scratches, clean welds, flush beads Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
