Now hiring: we are hiring an argon welder in Portsmouth, England. On the job you will handle: • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper What we are looking for: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection Full-time with occasional weekends.
