Great opportunity: ladle pourer (Missouri)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Macon County, Missouri. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. The role involves: • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings You should have: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Basic grinding and fettling skills Performance bonus on top of base pay.
