Vacancy available: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Houston County, Alabama. You will be based in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. You should have: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium The role involves clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run. 2+ years on the tools preferred.
