Now hiring: we are hiring a gas metal arc welder in Lincolnshire, England. You will work in a heavy engineering unit. Day-to-day duties: • Tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing • Grind back and re-weld any defective runs • Check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration • Read fabrication drawings and weld symbols • Weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions • Clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead Requirements: • Able to pass a 3G/4G plate test • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently Pay around £2,850 per month, based on your experience.
