You should have: • Willing to work shifts and overtime • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently On the job you will handle: • Check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration • Control distortion with a balanced welding sequence • Bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding • Read fabrication drawings and weld symbols • Strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc • Set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator 2+ years on the tools preferred.
