Now hiring: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Shelby County, Indiana. You will work at a groundworks and structures site. The role involves: • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters What we are looking for: • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently Six days a week, one day off.
