Counter butcher wanted in Cayuga County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a counter butcher in Cayuga County, New York. You will be based in a supermarket meat department. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling On a typical shift you will portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone; keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools; trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts; sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder. Part-time with flexible hours. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. $32 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
