Steel fixing chargehand — El Paso County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in El Paso County, Texas. You will be based at a rebar fabrication workshop. You should have: • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Willing to work outdoors in all weather and to tight pour dates • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites On a typical shift you will cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust; form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions; lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length.
