You should have: • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements On a typical shift you will lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers.
