Immediate opening: furnace operator (Northern Ireland)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a furnace operator in Derry City and Strabane, Northern Ireland. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. What we are looking for: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry The role involves check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale. 2+ years on the tools preferred.
