Urgent requirement: we are hiring a fettler in Essex County, New Jersey. You will be based in the fettling and dressing shop. You should have: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal On the job you will handle: • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring 4+ years on the tools preferred.
