Now hiring: gas meter installer (New Jersey)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a gas meter installer in Ocean County, New Jersey. You will be based in customers' homes and kitchens. Day-to-day duties: • Complete gas safety certificates and label the finished installation • Purge air from the lines and commission appliances to the correct gas rate • Test combustion and flue gases with a flue gas analyser • Lay and route steel and copper gas pipe runs to the appliance points • Set and adjust regulator outlet pressure with a gauge • Carry out tightness (pressure) tests with a manometer and lock off the supply Ideal candidate: • Competent in pipe threading, brazing and PE electrofusion • Able to read isometric and site drawings • Physically fit for lifting pipe, meters and cylinders Six days a week, one day off. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Pay around $4,800 per month, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
