Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Floyd County, Kentucky. You will be based on a busy residential building site. Ideal candidate: • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations Day-to-day duties: • Form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions • Lap and splice bars to the specified lap length • Lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors • Read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine Full-time with occasional weekends.
