Now hiring: we are hiring an argon welder in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. You will work at a precision engineering workshop. You will set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator. You should have: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) 5+ years on the tools preferred.
