Immediate opening: we are hiring a JCB operator in Santa Cruz County, California. You will work at a stone quarry. What we are looking for: • Awareness of site safety, PPE and lifting procedures • Able to operate excavator, loader and dozer confidently • Knowledge of pre-start inspections and basic machine maintenance On a typical shift you will excavate trenches and foundations to the marked depths and grade levels; work in coordination with the banksman and ground crew on signals; carry out daily pre-start checks on engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid and track tension; read site drawings and follow the batter and slope profiles; top up diesel, inspect hydraulic hoses for leaks and report defects; load trucks with spoil, aggregate and overburden using the bucket.
