Now hiring: we are hiring a bodywork technician in Richmond County, New York. The job is at an accident repair garage. Requirements: • Comfortable working with dust, noise and spray fumes • Able to set up and use a frame/jig straightening bench • 2+ years' experience as a panel beater or in a body shop Day to day you will read insurance damage reports and assessor estimates; MIG-weld and spot-weld new panels into place; check alignment with measuring gauges after a structural pull; strip out lights, mouldings and trims before repair; shrink stretched and oil-canned metal with a shrinking hammer; mix and spread body filler, then block-sand to a smooth contour.
