Garment machinist wanted in Calumet County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a garment machinist in Calumet County, Wisconsin. You will be based at a busy garment factory. Ideal candidate: • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens Day-to-day duties: • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. Full-time with occasional weekends. Meals and transport allowance provided. Pay around $4,300 per month, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
