Join our team: we are hiring a GMAW welder in LaSalle County, Illinois. You will be based in a heavy engineering unit. The role involves strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc; bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding; change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch; read fabrication drawings and weld symbols; load ER70S-6 wire spools and check the drive rolls; tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing. What we are looking for: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Comfortable welding mild steel, stainless and aluminium • ITI in welder trade or equivalent 2+ years on the tools preferred.
