Production welder • City of Petersburg, Virginia

We are recruiting: we are hiring a production welder in City of Petersburg, Virginia. You will be based at a pipe and tank fabrication yard. Ideal candidate: • Able to pass a 3G/4G plate test • Willing to work shifts and overtime • ITI in welder trade or equivalent Your main tasks: • Bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding • Tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing • Weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions • Maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose • Control distortion with a balanced welding sequence • Load ER70S-6 wire spools and check the drive rolls At least 6 year(s) in a similar role. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
