Now hiring: we are hiring a TIG welder in Dudley, England. Day to day you will run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols Six days a week, one day off.
