Occupational health and safety officer — Lowndes County

Great opportunity: we are hiring an occupational health and safety officer in Lowndes County, Alabama. You will be based at a busy construction site. Day to day you will ensure MSDS/SDS sheets are on hand for every chemical on site; run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry; audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges; run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points; deliver site induction to new workers, subcontractors and visitors; verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates. Ideal candidate: • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot • Able to read and prepare RAMS and method statements Pay around $26 per hour, based on your experience.
