Fire and safety officer — Wayne County

Join our team: we are hiring a fire and safety officer in Wayne County, New York. You will work in a chemical processing unit. Your main tasks: • Take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry • Record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date • Check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements • Carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift • Ensure MSDS/SDS sheets are on hand for every chemical on site Requirements: • NEBOSH, IOSH or a recognised OHS certificate • Valid first aid and basic firefighting training • Able to read and prepare RAMS and method statements Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
