Industrial sewing operator wanted in Kenai Peninsula Borough

Urgent requirement: we are hiring an industrial sewing operator in Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska. You will be based at a busy garment factory. The role involves set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance; operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension. Ideal candidate: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
