Steel fixer • Lake County, Ohio

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a steel fixer in Lake County, Ohio. On the job you will handle: • Fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover • Tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat • Fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings • Lap and splice bars to the specified lap length You should have: • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
