You will tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules; assemble column and beam cages on the bench; set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift; place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing. Requirements: • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
