Now hiring: blocklayer (Virginia)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a blocklayer in Lancaster County, Virginia. The job is on a new-build development. Day-to-day duties: • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts You should have: • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) 2+ years on the tools preferred. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
