Trainee butcher wanted in Lee County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Lee County, Iowa. You will be based at a halal meat counter. On a typical shift you will sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; weigh, price and label cuts for the display case; monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain; debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife; stuff and link fresh sausages with casings; dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date. You should have: • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling At least 4 year(s) in a similar role.
