Immediate opening: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Saint Bernard Parish, Louisiana. You will work at a busy iron foundry. You should have: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection On a typical shift you will check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring. Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
