You should have: • Clear spoken delivery for toolbox talks and inductions • NEBOSH, IOSH or a recognised OHS certificate Day to day you will run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry; stop unsafe work and brief the supervisor on corrective action; check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements; investigate near-misses and incidents and file root-cause reports; run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points; update the risk register and method statements (RAMS).
