Urgent requirement: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Pennington County, Minnesota. You should have: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks The role involves: • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
