Day to day you will check the first-aid kit and fire extinguisher on board; carry out pre-trip checks on tyres, brakes, lights and mirrors; check engine oil, coolant and washer fluid levels before each shift; reroute around roadworks and diversions while keeping to time; follow fixed pick-up and drop-off routes to a set timetable; monitor tyre pressure and top it up when needed.
