Head butcher — Bursari Local Government Area

We are recruiting: we are hiring a head butcher in Bursari Local Government Area, Yobe State. The job is at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. On the job you will handle: • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools • Dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts Requirements: • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler Overtime paid at a premium rate.
