We are recruiting: we are hiring a tig welder in Hoonah-Angoon Census Area, Alaska. Ideal candidate: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through You will control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters; weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring).
