On a typical shift you will read the cutting list and optimisation sheet and label each profile; cut uPVC profiles to size on a double-mitre saw at 45 degrees; rout lock and hardware pockets with the copy router; glaze the double-glazed units, set the packers and bed the glass square; crimp glazing beads to length and snap them into the frame; fit espagnolette locking gear, friction hinges, handles and keeps to the sash. You should have: • Accurate measuring and squaring to within a couple of millimetres • Own basic hand tools (tape, square, screw gun) Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
