On a typical shift you will weigh, price and label cuts for the display case; monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain; run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone; portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone. Requirements: • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • 2+ years experience working as a butcher Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
