Great opportunity: we are hiring a banksman in Gibson County, Tennessee. You will work at a shipyard. Your main tasks: • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use • Secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight Requirements: • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces Full-time with occasional weekends.
