Fire and safety officer • Adair County, Iowa

We are recruiting: we are hiring a fire and safety officer in Adair County, Iowa. You will work in a warehouse and logistics yard. Your main tasks: • Inspect scaffolding, full-body harnesses and lifelines for work at height • Verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates • Carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift • Investigate near-misses and incidents and file root-cause reports • Run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points • Take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry Requirements: • Physically fit for full-site inspections on foot • Sound knowledge of local OSH and factory act regulations • Minimum 2-3 years on construction or factory sites At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
