Bar bender and fixer • Newport County, Rhode Island

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a bar bender and fixer in Newport County, Rhode Island. Day to day you will check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; assemble column and beam cages on the bench; set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift; place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing; fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover. Ideal candidate: • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites We offer $3,400 per month plus benefits.
