Immediate opening: we are hiring a horticulturist in Louisa County, Iowa. Requirements: • Physically fit for bending, lifting and long hours outdoors • Happy to work outdoors in all weather • Valid driving licence for travel between sites On the job you will handle: • Apply fertiliser, compost and mulch to beds • Sharpen, clean and oil hand tools and mower blades • Plant seasonal bedding plants, bulbs and saplings • Cut back tree branches and clear overhanging limbs • Prune hedges, shrubs and ornamental trees with secateurs and hedge trimmers • Repot nursery stock and pot on cuttings Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
