Day to day you will strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work Full-time, day shift.
